What does this Christian Believe and Why?

On the Issue of Homosexuality/Lesbianism/Same Sex Marriage

I have had so many comments for just a simple blog that I figured I would write just one more thing and see what happens.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

One of the weaknesses of the church today is that most Christians have faith and certain beliefs, but if you ask them why they believe those doctrines they will not have an answer for you that is biblically based. Perhaps they will have an answer but they actually don't understand the reason God's law is the way it is.

I remember when I was in High School and a bunch of us were sitting around talking about some issues and the topic of Gays/Homosexuals came up. I knew it was wrong, had read verses to that effect and, truthfully, had a homophobic attitude towards them rather than a Christan attitude. Admittedly I was only 17 and still in high school and had more maturing to do. A comment by one of my unsaved friends actually laid my attitude bare for what it was and I had no answer. It was not the loving attitude of Christ.

Homosexuality is wrong and sinful for Biblical reasons just as drunkenness and fornication are wrong. Abortion is wrong and sinful just as stealing and lying are wrong. Why do we make such a big deal about it. After all, in regards to Homosexuality, (the world says) what's the big deal, who are they hurting... why can't they get married? Why does God call it an abomination anyway?

God created Adam and Eve.... yes, that is what the Bible says and that is what I believe... and told them to go forth and multiply. That was the purpose. Malachi 2:15 states "And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth."

In this passage and other verses in the chapter God speaks of His desire that we raise up a godly seed or lineage (children). That was God's purpose in creating Male and Female. He wanted us to have children that would follow God. In Homosexual or lesbian relationships reproduction cannot happen. Never has a man mating with a man ever given birth to a child and the same is true of Lesbian relationships. It cannot happen and never will. That is scientifically proven. God created humans in such a way that you need male and female mating to produce offspring. We'll talk about killing that offspring (abortion) and why it is wrong later but it should be self explanatory!

Homosexuality is an abomination (please note that I am not saying that Homosexuals are abominations or more abhorrent than any other sinner) The act of homosexuality is a sinful act that certain sinners do. We are all sinners and we all have free will and choose the sin of our choice. But why is the act of homosexuality called by God an abomination? The word abomination means "disgusting thing", and the bible mentions many things that are disgusting to Him, one of those is an unworthy or blemished sacrifice. All sin, is in fact repugnant to Almighty God.

These are some reasons why, as Christians, we cannot support legislation that legalizes same sex marriages. Same sex marriages are wrong. Marriage is the joining of a man and a woman for the purpose of forming a family in the hopes of having children. I know a lot of people think that this is not politically correct, but it is correct.

I Corinthians 6:9-11 gives a list of sins and how that many of the Christians in the church there had practiced those sins.

Here is what I believe.....Sin is sinful and God is forgiving of all who seek Him. Homosexuality is one of those sins for which Christ died. How often have we shared that truth of Christ's love with someone who practices homosexuality?

Good for you for saying it like it is. Too many people do not want to stand up to what it so clearly says in the bible.
Totally what I believe as well!

An excellent and thoughtful post, YDad. I steadfastly support and endorse it.

The entire issue of sexuality is frought with dangers, from a Christian POV; for what could momentarily, appear as both 'innocent', anonymous and private, is a wide-open doorway to damnation, forever.
What shame, and what an affront to God.

The gay agenda is only another demonic front to destroy our blessed nation. I believe that.
